Write to three friends about why they matter to you
A letter creates room for something that may remain unsaid in an ordinary conversation. Start by writing down the names of three friends you want to address personally. Beside each name, note one specific shared memory, a small gesture that stayed with you, or a quality you genuinely appreciate. Use that note as your opening and explain in your own words why this person matters to you. The letter does not need to be long or formal. A few precise sentences often feel more meaningful than broad compliments. Handwrite it or type it, whichever feels more natural. Then decide whether to give each letter in person or send it privately. Respect your friend’s privacy, especially when referring to personal experiences, and write without expecting a response.
