Join a book club

The character you found annoying might be someone else's favorite. That's part of what makes discussing a book interesting: you get other perspectives on a story you thought you knew, as well as ideas for what to read next. Look for an existing book club or invite a few people you know to a first reading meetup. Choose a book everyone can get and agree on a realistic date. Decide whether to meet online or at someone's home, and how to handle spoilers or a book not everyone has finished. You don't need to prepare a literary analysis. Bring one passage, question, or character you'd like to talk about. A simple first step is asking someone which book they would enjoy reading together; that conversation could become your first meeting.

Make this idea your own: what would you like to do, who might join you and what is a manageable first step? Save it to your list and develop your plan when the time feels right.
